Morey CPA Success Story

Jerry Morey started his own practice from scratch in January of 2014 in San Clemente, CA.

In June of 2015, Jerry Morey signed up for Build Your Firm’s Outsourced Marketing Program to capitalize on inbound marketing and develop some attractive niches for his new accounting practice of seventeen months. The niches that Jerry wanted to establish as niches were dental, medical and veterinary based on his Metaegnics experience.

Prior to starting his own practice, Jerry was the CFO for Metaegnics for 15 years. As CFO, he helped grow Metaegnics from $23 million to $280 million and negotiated the sale to Amway in 2009 and stayed in his role as CFO until the end of 2011. He is on the Board of Metaegenics currently, which is a division of Amway.

Separately, Jerry is a member of Mission Hospital Foundation, which is part of Providence Health System. Jerry has been on their Board for years.

After eleven years of working with Build Your Firm in the Outsourced Marketing Program, Jerry now has a thriving practice. All of his growth has been organic (no practice acquisitions).

The largest niche within Jerry’s flourishing practice is dental practices. When he started working with Build Your Firm, he had zero dental clients. Today, Jerry has orthodontists, oral surgeons, pediatric dentists and general practitioners. All types of dentists.

The second largest segment of Jerry’s practice is medical practices ranging from plastic surgeons, dermatologists, cosmetic surgeons, med spas and anesthesiologists. All types of medical practices.

The third largest segment is pet hospitals and veterinary clinics. As pets have become humanized within the household, this niche may have the most upside potential.

Outsourced Marketing is a Partnership

After starting a practice in 2014, Jerry has been a busy man between his thriving accounting practice and Board roles with Metaegnics and Mission Hospital, he managed to find time to be the executive producer of a movie named Rhythm Is a Dancer, which just released.
